Blogs- a blog is a personal place where you can share your own thoughts and ideas and explore other peoples blog and make comments to others work (Search Win Development, 2010).
Essential Learnings- identify what should be taught to students and what is important for students to know and understand. Essential learnings are used for grade 3,5,7 and 9 and there are Essential Learnings for each subject area (QSA, 2010).
Gross motor skills- a gross motor skill is the using of large muscles in the body to do physical activity. As you grow and develop you gain motor skills (Flinders University, n.d.)
HPE- stands for Health and Physical Education (QSA, 2010).
ICT- stand for Information and Communication Technology (QSA, 2010).
KLA- stand for a Key Learning Area, such as HPE, Maths, English etc (QSA, 2010).
Productive Pedagogies- describe a framework which teachers can choose and develop strategies to what they are teaching and the styles and approaches they take to meet the backgrounds of their students (Queensland Government DET Education, 2004).
QCT- stands for the Queensland College of Teachers and is part of the Queensland Government statutory authority. Teachers must to the 10 Professional standards (Queensland College of Teachers, 2009).
QSA- stands for Queensland Studies Authority. They are the statutory body of the Queensland Government. They provide Prep to year 12 syllabuses, assessment, reporting, testing, accreditation and certification for Queensland schools (QSA, 2010).
Strand- in each Key Learning Area (KLA) there are differnet topics which are called strands. For Heath and Physical Education (HPE) there are three strands, they are promoting the health of individual and communities; enhancing personal development and the one we are looking at is developing concepts and skills for physical activity (Queensland School Curriculum Council, 1999).
Traditional Indigenous Games- games and activities which were played by Indigenous people all around Australia. Each game has a story and history to it (Edwards, 2008).
YouTube- broadcasting tool which allows you to view videos and upload your own (The Learning Place, 2009).
